Ranbir's film has remained the top priority of movie lovers even in the third week.

Brahmastra is enjoying a historic boost to its box office performance today, all thanks to National Cinema Day. The ticket rates are highly affordable and people who missed out on a chance to catch the magnum opus on the big screen, are flocking to theatres all across the country. Let’s find out how what was the average morning occupancy of the film!

At several places, houseful boards could be seen right from the morning shows. It’s not just Ranbir Kapoor led magnum opus but even other releases have witnessed bumper responses due to low ticket rates. Having said that, Ranbir’s film has remained the top priority of movie lovers even in the third week. The occupancy report of the same is out now.

It is learnt that Brahmastra has recorded the occupancy of a monstrous 90-95% all across the country in morning shows. Both multiplexes and single screens have opened to a bumper response and will remain the same throughout the day. The collection will come in double-digits but it won’t be earth-shattering considering the low ticket rates.

Helmed by Ayan Mukerji, Brahmastra stars Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Mouni Roy, Amitabh Bachchan, Nagarjuna and Shah Rukh Khan (cameo). It released on 9th September in Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam languages.

Director Ayan Mukherjee, who has also written the script for the film, has planned Brahmāstra to be a three-part venture. The much-awaited Brahmāstra—Shiva Part One, starring Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt, was finally released in theatres on September 9.

Brahmastra: Part 2 - Dev

Even before it became a big hit, Director Ayan Mukerji announced the second part as the end credits roll. Part 2 has been titled Dev, and tells the story of Shiva's father. Deepika Padukone has already been confirmed as Shiva's mother.

Other than Shah Rukh Khan's cameo, the secret that Deepika Padukone plays Shiva's mother Amrita in a brief cameo has been already revealed by the eagle-eye moviegoers. However, the film also introduced his other parent Dev as well. Like Amrita Dev is also a member of Brahmansh.

Ayan Mukerji’s labour of love, Brahmastra: Part One - Shiva, has hit the big screen after a long wait, prompting eager fans to make a beeline for the theatres. That Ayan has put his heart and soul into creating this ‘Astraverse’ is evident from the visual spectacles churned out by this epic fantasy film. With a budget of a whopping Rs 410 crore, Brahmastra is being touted as India’s answer to the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Starring Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt and Amitabh Bachchan in key roles, Brahmastra tells the story of India’s glorious past — the Astras which our sages possessed, with Brahmastra being the biggest of them all and known as the ‘Astro Ke Devta’ (biggest weapon of them all) that can destroy the universe.

However, with the cumulative power of their Astras, these sages (known as Brahmansh) kept in check the destructive energy of Brahmastra. That is until now. Thus begins the tale of Shiva (Ranbir Kapoor) and Isha (Alia Bhatt) and how fate brings them together to unravel the secrets of the universe.

Here’s your sneak peek into Ayan Mukerji’s Astraverse (warning: spoilers ahead) before you catch Brahmastra this weekend.

Vanarastra: As the name suggests, this Astra gives one the power of a vanar (monkey). Shaped like an anklet, the Astra enables its wearer to jump and climb with the agility of an anthropoid. Played by none other than Shah Rukh Khan, Vanarastra sets the tone for the ensuing saga. In the film, Shah Rukh’s character has been named Mohan Bhargav, a space scientist who set up the institute SpaceHind 25 years ago, as a nod to the superstar’s 2004 film Swades.
